Program Design
Welcome to an enriching 8-week Yoga and Arts Summer Camp nestled in the heart of Brooklyn! The YES Yoga Summer camp is designed for children in pre-K to 2nd grade, offering a dynamic fusion of yoga, mindfulness, and creative arts. Each week unfolds a new adventure with carefully curated themes, meant to enhance our relationship and knowledge of planet Earth.
Our daily schedule encompasses yoga sessions tailored for young minds, engaging arts and crafts, storytelling, outdoor play, and exciting local trips.
Our unique YES Yoga curriculum serves as a framework for this program, which introduces philosophical concepts of yoga & mindfulness in an age-appropriate manner. Students will learn and enjoy:
Somatic movement and breathing exercises
Tools for social and emotional regulation, active listening, and compassionate communication
Techniques for growth and stability in the new school year
Outdoor adventures and guided activities throughout Prospect Park and local playgrounds
Collaborative art projects and a final showcase
Visual journaling to process and retain lessons, plus inspire creativity
An inclusive and safe space for exploration

Early-bird Price (Registration by March 1st): $630 per week

Deposit (weekly attendance): Entire weekly payment to secure spot.

What makes Shambhala's YES Yoga Summer Camp different from other programs?
This program was designed to meet the myriad needs of children during summer time. We are a small program, so we can give individualized attention to each child. We are able to create a program grounded in kindness and empathy.
Are meals provided?
All parents are required to provide lunch and a full water bottle. We provide snacks. We do have a refrigerator on site and a water cooler to fill their bottle.
We are a NO NUTS studio due to allergies. Please do not send any food items containing nuts.
how should students dress?
Generally, children should come to camp dressed casually and comfortably. Closed toe shoes are recommended for walking and playing outside.
What is a typical day like?
9am - 9:15 am | Welcome and Morning Circle
Greet the Children and engage in a brief morning circle to set a positive tone for the day.
9:15am - 10 am | Yoga & Movement
Lead a fun and age-appropriate yoga session, incorporating interactive poses, stories, and music.
Emphasize mindfulness and relaxation techniques suitable for young children.
10am - 10:30am | Creative Expression and yoga
Facilitate an arts and crafts session related to the morning's yoga theme.
Encourage self-expression through drawing, painting, or crafting activities.
10:30am - 10:45am |Mid-Morning Break: Snack Time and Relaxation
Provide a healthy snack.
Engage children in a short relaxation activity, such as guided breathing or a mindfulness exercise.
10:45am - 12pm | Late Morning Session: Creative Arts and yoga
10:45am - 11:30am: Visual Arts
Conduct visual arts activities, such as painting, drawing, or sculpture, focusing on fostering creativity.
11:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Performing Arts
Introduce simple drama, music, or dance activities to enhance self-expression and confidence.
12pm - 1:30pm | Lunch and Outdoor Play with yoga

Provide a nutritious lunch for the children.
1pm - 1:30pm: Outdoor Play
Allow children to engage in unstructured playtime, promoting physical activity and social interaction.
1:30pm -3 pm | Afternoon Session: Yoga Storytelling and Craft
1:30pm - 2pm: Storytelling and Imagination
Read age-appropriate stories with themes related to mindfulness, yoga, or creativity.
Engage in discussions and activities inspired by the stories.
2pm - 3pm: Yoga Craft Workshop
Conduct a hands-on craft workshop based on the afternoon's storytelling session.
Encourage children to express themselves through artistic creations.
3pm-3:15pm | Afternoon Snack and Relaxation
Provide a light afternoon snack.
Lead a short relaxation or mindfulness activity to help children unwind.
3:15pm- 4:30pm| Late Afternoon Session: Yoga Games and Free Play
3:15pm - 4pm: Group Games
Organize group games that promote teamwork, cooperation, and fun.
4pm - 4:30pm: Free Play and Exploration
Allow children to engage in free play, choosing from various play stations or creative activities.
4:30pm - 5pm| Closing Circle and Pick-Up
4:30pm - 5pm: Closing Circle
Gather the children for a closing circle, summarizing the day's activities and expressing gratitude.
Provide information for the next day's exciting adventures.
Health & Safety Protocols
As we gear up for a summer of exploration and well-being at [Your Yoga Studio]'s Yoga and Arts Summer Camp, we want to assure you that the health and safety of your child is our top priority. We have implemented robust protocols to create a secure and enjoyable environment for everyone. Please review the following health and safety measures:
COVID-19 Precautions:
Daily health screenings: All campers and staff will undergo daily health screenings upon arrival.
Hand hygiene: Regular handwashing and sanitizing will be encouraged throughout the day.
Face coverings: While engaged in indoor activities, face coverings may be worn by staff and campers
Frequent cleaning: High-touch surfaces and shared equipment will be regularly sanitized throughout the day.
Sanitization stations: Hand sanitizer stations will be strategically placed throughout the camp facility.
Small Group Settings:
Limited group sizes: We will maintain small group settings to facilitate social distancing during activities and trips.
Assigned group leaders: Each group will have a dedicated leader to ensure personalized attention and supervision.
Communication:
Regular updates: We will keep you informed about any changes to health and safety protocols and provide regular updates on your child's experiences.
Emergency communication: In the event of an emergency, we have clear communication channels in place to reach parents promptly.
Health Guidelines:
Wellness policy: Children exhibiting signs of illness will be separated and parents will be contacted for immediate pickup.
Immunization records: Ensure your child's vaccinations are up-to-date and provide any necessary health information during registration.
Camp Fees
Our pricing structures reflect our commitment to providing a holistic and enriching summer camp experience. We believe in investing in your child's physical, mental, and creative development, and our pricing is designed to ensure a high-quality program.
To show our appreciation for your commitment, we offer early registration discounts for those who secure their spot by February 29th. Additionally, we have sibling rates to make the experience accessible for families with multiple children attending.
Special rates are also available for parents registering with the PS316 or PS705 Summer Camp Fair
