Karmi With Us: Volunteers

Are you interested in volunteering with us? We’d love to meet you! Fill out our form below to get in touch with us.

Do you love the Shambhala community and want to deepen your practice with unlimited yoga and meditation classes?

Join our vibrant community of volunteers through Shambhala’s karmi program!

In yogic philosophy, Karma yoga is the yoga of action. It asks of us to serve our community: to be a part of something greater than ourselves.

The commitment: Karmis devote 3 hrs a week to a shift. In exchange for your time, karmis receive unlimited membership to Shambhala, which includes yoga, dance and meditation classes. We ask for at least a 3-month commitment, but of course we hope you’ll stay with us! We’re looking for folks who are ready to welcome our diverse students and embrace and support our community.

What do karmis do? Karmis help us build our community by welcoming everyone who comes through our doors. We serve at the front desk signing students in to class and help them make class and shop purchases; we orient new students, and we maintain the studio.

We love getting to know Shambhala’s students and teachers, and we like to practice often! Karmi-ing with us is a wonderful way to support our community while getting access to affordable yoga, meditation and dance.

How to apply: We’re currently looking for folks who are available to volunteer in person to support our community studio and wellness boutique. Familiarity with Shambhala and with yoga studio and retail software is a plus, but you will receive training! Please review the following questions and fill out the form below, and a member of our admin team will get in touch about scheduling a time to meet and get training!

Is the Karmi Program right for me?

Wondering if you’d be a good fit for our Karmi Program? Before submitting your application, take a moment review the following questions:

Are you at least 18 years of age?

Are you comfortable in front facing roles where you’ll be interacting with our vibrant community?

Are you able to perform light physical duties like cleaning/sweeping of studio space?

Are you comfortable with Google applications, such as Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar, or willing to learn?

Are you looking to deepen your own personal practice and connect with a wonderful community of likeminded yogis?

If you answered “yes!” to the questions above then we’d love to consider your application to join our wonderful community of volunteers!
