What would it be like to feel fully alive inside this unique female body you've been given? What is the nature of feminine power and energy, and how does it differ from - and dance with - masculine energy? How does a woman come to own and celebrate the inherent wonder of her nature, in all its many moods: light, dark, playful, moody, wild and serene? The Sanskrit word for the second chakra is Svadisthana ("sweetness"), and it is here that the lovely Orisha Oshun (African goddess of love) resides - deep in the belly, the home of feminine creativity, sensuality, sexual energy, mystery, and power. We will call on this powerful, loving force to surround and fill us as we dive deep into the healing w aters of our own wondrous realm. We'll spend four days high in the lush mountains of Central Puerto Rico, at a secluded retreat center near a sensuous, rolling river. Then three days on the beach of the tiny, mystical island of Culebra, nestled in the embrace of the shimmering Caribbean Sea. We will call on a wide range of traditions to support us in our journey: Tantra yoga, dance, music, chant, and powerful healing and cleansing ceremonies from the Orisha, Tantra, Taoist and Native American traditions. There will also be time for deep reflection and soul-nurturing, both in solitude and in the community of your sisters. This will be an expansive and deeply nourishing journey toward ecstatic reunion with your sweet, wild, luscious and radiant Feminine Self! We'll be assisted by Melissa Rivera, a beautiful dancer, yoga teacher and initiate in the Western Native American tradition. |
